Bridal Shower Game Ideas

Msss, on February 1, 2020 at 00:59 Posted in Before the wedding 0 5

Hello everyone,

My MOH and I are currently jotting down ideas for possible games and activities for my bridal shower (noted below). I was wondering if you had any other suggestions based on your own research/brainstorming or experience. I am aiming for fun and inclusive. I must also remain mindful that it will take place at a historical site, so some games like "Find the Ring" are (just for my own peace of mind) off limits.

Also, I took advantage of boxing week and gathered enough wellness/self-care items to complete seven baskets for prizes. Is that something you think you would like as a bridal shower prize?

I like interactive games that get everyone involved like dressing the girls up with toilet paper and they all modeled in the front. or a purse scavenger hunt or my cousin tapped pictures of her hubby underneath peoples chairs an the person who had the "odd looking husband" won a prize. everyone was screaming and laughing when we did that one. and yes i always love prizes!!

We did the classic "Don't say bride/wedding or else you lose your ring" - every guest was given a plastic ring on a necklace and if someone else heard them say either bride or wedding, they gained the other person's ring. The person with the most rings won.

We also did the purse game, where guests had to guess 10 items I always have in my purse.

For prizes, I would enjoy wellness/self care baskets, but as others have mentioned, be mindful if some guests have scent sensitivities.

One that was at my Cousin in-law's shower was a bunch of pics of her and you had to guess the age in each one?

I think that so far that is a LOT of games and you're good with that. I think we had time for roughly 2 games at my shower. Started with mingleing and then went to games followed by opening the gifts.

I think the baskets are a good idea although be mindful of guests who may have scent sensitivities.

For me personally, I always prefer gift cards just because I will actually use them versus other things where I might not use them.
I think your baskets will be a good idea though.

I've seen couples play a version of the dating game where one is interviewed and asked questions and the other has to guess their answers. It can be pretty cute! You could also get the guests to try and guess the answers before someone confirms them.

As far as prizes go I'm scent sensitive so I'm not a big fan of soaps or candles. Gift cards, chocolate, gift certificates for services like mani pedi, lotto scratch cards. I went to one where the prizes were baked goods by the brides grandmother and Aunt and came with the recipe on a card. They were layed out on a table so you could pick which one you wanted so we were all competitive to win her cheesecake!
