Bridal Shower & Bach

Vanny, on January 7, 2021 at 16:50 Posted in Before the wedding 1 6
Hey ladies! Are you guys still thinking of having a shower and Bach? I let my bride tribe know that I'd love to have one this year as I lost out on mine last year but with all this back and forth lockdown and restrictions going on it's so hard to plan 😭😭😭😭

For sure! Plans changed of course. Smaller bridal shower in my parents backyard in May, rent a tent for protection but cook all food ourselves (25ish). Bachelorette a couple weeks before the big day, going up North to rent a cottage with the ladies for a couple nights (8 of us)! Maybe do some spa things, canoe, hike etc! I feel I still want to experience these things even if on a smaller scale!

My wedding was supposed to be on NYE (still got married but postponed the wedding 10 days out because of Ontario's lockdown 😔). I had my shower in August so we could guarantee having it outside. It was far out but totally worth it. We also did it in two rounds (two 1.5 hr showers with time in between to clean and reset) so that I could have everyone and it felt safer (it also meant I got to really talk to everyone and I didn't have to open gifts infront of everyone!). My sister did a beautiful job in in her stunning backyard. It was a catered lunch and my brother in law's served the food buffet style (everyone wore masks when going to get food).

As for my bachelorette... It was supposed to be a full weekend in September but about a month out I said I would not be comfortable being a big group of 15 (if we were allowed still by then) so we cancelled and did it just 5 of us and it was PERFECT (and safe). My other friends did some seperate mini bachelorettes with those friend groups (patio dinner and drinks... a winery night... etc.) and it was so special.
I'm so beyond happy with how it all worked out and couldn't imagine it being any better! Now for the wedding to work out...

We cancelled/postponed my shower but we did manage to have a bachelorette weekend. Our original plan was to leave NB for the wine country in NS but even with the Atlantic Bubble we decided to stay closer to home. We drove to another city nearby and stayed in a hotel suite, went for Japanese Tapenyaki and did a tasting and tour of a local winery. We lucked out that we went when we did in mid September when cases were low in our area, a month later we would have had to cancel!

I think if you and your bridal party are comfortable having a celebration (and if it's legal to have one) then you should do it. Not only is it a chance to have fun, but the hospitality industry needs us to be having little staycations and taking the chance to enjoy local restaurants so it's a win win!

Hi! Yes and you deserve one. Every bride does if they want one! I had both a bridal shower and a bachelorette and they were incredible. For the bridal shower I had a venue and we had a four course lunch and a dessert table. Played some bridal games. For the bachelorette, my bridal party and I went wine hopping in NOTL and stayed in a hotel overnight. Went out for a fancy dinner. Got dressed up and just had fun!

Yesss! I was looking forward to it so it kinda sucked that we had to cancel mine for last year but heres to hoping this year will be somewhat better... it's hard to know what restrictions will look like in a couple of months but we'll see I guess.

I have let my bridesmaids know that I will be very disappointed if there wasn't a bachelorette party (no pressure). I'm the party girl of the group, so I need something!

I would even be super excited with renting a local airbnb and getting drunk and dancing in there for the weekend.

Of course depending on how things are going at that particular time, what you do may have to change, but I think if it's something that you really want to have, it can be done. Have a sleepover with your ladies and watch Magic Mike Smiley winking
