Bistro chairs tacky for ceremony?

Bistro chairs tacky for ceremony? 1
My venue comes with the plastic bistro chairs (middle) for the ceremony. I find it very cheap looking and want to rent either the wooden folding chairs (left) or chiavari chairs but it's not cheap including setup, take down and delivery. What do you guys think?Any suggestions of vendors?

Glad I could help! I think you'll be happy you saved the money or used it on something else in the end.

Thanks everyone for the input! The pictures were great help since I was so worried about them running the look of the ceremony.
Feels much better now! Smiley smile

We pretty much had exactly the same chairs, and I wasn't bothered by them. I think it helped that we had the ceremony outdoors and white in some of the decor. We added bows to the aisle chairs to pretty up them up a bit. You don't really pay attention to them when the main focus is you and your partner.

You could possibly get chair covers to rent to cover the bistro chairs. Or get some ribbon or tulle to jazz them up - can even use your wedding colours!!

I agree with others - if you are having a short ceremony (less than 1/2 hour), I wouldn't worry too much about how they look.

I think that for the amount of time you are sitting at the ceremony that it would be fine - unless you plan on having a lengthy one that is! My ceremony was like 15 mintues tops and we heard no complaints... then again I don't even know what type of chairs they had 😂

If you're concerned about how it will look I wouldn't worry about it. Once people are sitting in them you won't see the chairs in photos.

Comfort wise, my cousin had the chairs on the right at his ceremony, they were uncomfortable but it was a short ceremony so it was definitely bearable.

But if you decide you really want to rent chairs then I would keep an eye out for vendors having sales on their rentals. I'm not sure about Ontario but here in NS we have a bunch of vendors renting the chiavari chairs and they often do sales at wedding expos. You can also usually enter draws to save money on rentals

If it's only for the ceremony I wouldn't worry too much. I think they're fine in certain circumstances depending on the rest of the venue and aesthetic you're going for, but they can be jazzed up a bit too with ribbon or tulle or whatever else. But like Rayanne said, if you have the money for a chair swap and it would make you feel better then you should do it.

For a simple ceremony, it won't be long for them to bw sitting. The cost for chairs wanted and getting it set up and taken down isn't worth the price to pay. Its the reception part i would say thats the more important aspect to get it for the better seating. Chair covers were available to hide the look and material, then its better to have that option. Ask if there are chair covers for the ceremony if your concern is about the look of the chair.

Are you having a long ceremony? I'm not sure it is worth all the time, money and trouble. Of course, if you have the money and want to, go for it.
