Bar Menu help!

Ashley, on July 1, 2019 at 01:10 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10
Hello everyone! For our wedding, we have a bartender serving drinks, but we provide the alcohol and juices. Now, my fiancé and I don’t really drink. So I’m just looking for recommendations on what type of drinks/cocktails to serve. What juices and liquor we should get. And any good, but not go over budget wines.

Thank you In advance 😊

Thank you!! I definitely think we’ll be keeping is simple with the alcohol and juices. Majority of my guests aren’t hard drinkers either. So I’m sure I can pas with a simple bar

Beer, red wine, and white wine is always a winner. if someone doesnt like those even consider making mocktails. i find club soda to be a good replacement for any alcohol drink. just mix it with the normal ingredients found in cocktails. just get a few types of beer and some wine and im sure enough people will be happy. i know you can get far with all the hard alcohols, fruit juice, and coke

A chart for liquor and booze is available online to let you know how much will be needed based on guest count.

Considering buying all the bottles from LCBO, you want to consider going online on their site to get a special event liqour permit for $35 and put a date you will make the trip before your wedding. The permit will be need to be printed and taken to the LCBO when making the purchase.

Any full and unopened bottles can be returned after with the reciept so your not stuck with the liquor/booze not wanting to keep after the event.

My favourite non alcoholic juice drink is Cranberry with Orange or Pinapple. Its simple and tastes great.

For our Wedding Social we had:

Red + White Wine (boxed was cheapest and tasted fine)

Beer (3 kinds - Bud Light, Kokanee, and Coors Banquet)

Rum (Spiced and regular - CM)

    Vodka (Smirnoff)

    Tequila (Hornitos)

Gin (Not sure of the brand, but make sure to have tonic!!!)

    Whiskey (Crown Royal)

Fireball (gotta have shots of fireball!)

For mix: Pepsi, 7UP, Cranberry Juice, Tonic, and we had lime wedges for tequila shots.

You could stick to the classic/standards : Vodka, Rum, Rye, Bourbon, Tequila & Gin. In terms of juices or mixers, I'd stick to really simple stuff (OJ, Cranberry, soda and tonic, coke, ginger ale, lime/lemons).

If you don't want to break the bank with the booze, I'd make it clear to your bartender that shots and doubles aren't permitted. Having a signature cocktail will definitely help with narrowing down the booze to stock up.

If you want to do beer, I'd stick to two types (1 domestic, 1 import). Similar with wine (1 red, 1 white) and buying by the case would be cheaper + depending on where you are/buying, some places will allow you to return any unopened wine bottles.

Depending on how many guests you have you may want to look into bottling your own wine.. that is much cheaper. it ends up being less than $3 a bottle at most places.

Sticking with your basics would be best. So vodka, rum, rye, gin, tequila are normally the big ones people drink. Then for juice you can do a variety of pop (coke, ginger ale, sprite) and maybe cranberry juice or pineapple juice.
You can look up some different cocktails online for a “signature cocktail” and then stock those items for a quick drink!
As for wine, having a basic red (merlot is pretty popular) and white (Pinot grigio) is easy to find without breaking the bank! You can get some pretty good wine for $7-$10 a bottle!
