Bar/drink Menu Ideas

Teela, on May 22, 2018 at 01:00 Posted in Wedding reception 0 2

I am trying to come up with a drink menu with cocktail ideas because my 21yr old cousin is doing my bar. I am going to have a menu displayed and people can order the drink just like in restaurants. We are trying to keep the bar simple and not have to buy ingredients that will only be used in one drink. We were thinking keeping it simple to Rum, Vodka, and Whisky. We also have a slushy machine that will have margaritas. I don't know many simple whisky or Rum drinks... does anyone have ideas in which garnishes and mixes can be universal to make variety of drinks?

Rum drinks: Rum & Coke.......
Vodka drinks: Vodka Tonic/Soda, Vodka 7, Vodka Cran
Whisky Drinks: ........

I don't need a ton, just thought maybe 2-3 per Rum/whisky/vodka.

This is what I was thinking of getting for garnishes and mixes

Garnish:

Lemons, Limes, Grenadine

Mixes:

7-up, Tonic Water, Club Soda, Cranberry juice, Coke, GingerAle

side note... we will also have beer and wine

I second this! also if you hit up a walmart/superstore near you you can get the really easy premade drink mixes, they're not that expensive, and usually only require one liquor to complete them. They have a few variaties, they're usually located in the same section as your non alcoholic beers and wines, near the pop.

I'd definitely add simple syrup to your bar - it really extends the options for simple cocktails. It can be made really, really easily at home a day or two in advance (it's literally just sugar and water boiled down to a syrupy consistency). I'd probably also add maraschino cherries to garnishes. For mix, I'd add orange juice, possibly pineapple juice, and ginger ale.

For a few recipes that are super simple:

Rum punch: Rum and equal parts orange and pineapple juice

Rum Spritz: Rum, club soda, lime wedge

Whiskey sour: Whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup

    Seven & Seven: Whiskey (Typically Seagram's 7, but...) and 7 up/sprite
