Backdrop needed

Liana, on October 2, 2019 at 13:00 Posted in Wedding reception 0 6
We are getting married at The Glenerin Inn and Spa next year and planning to have a sweetheart table. The headtable placement would be infront of an extra door and sign. Rhe venue supplies the curtain in the photo.

There's an other option in the room to have a darker colour fire place but I don't know if that would suit a June wedding.

Please share ideas with me! Did you have a similar issue?

I’m having a similar situation at my venue! I am adding greenery and lights as someone suggested here. I think this would suit June better than a fire place so I agree on that! I think you could add florals or something if it fits your theme Smiley smile You could also get a custom backdrop made with your initials or something.

    Picture for inspiration! Smiley ring

    Hey there, Liana Smiley smile

Personally, I don't think this backdrop looks bad. The curtain covers the door up nicely.

Would you perhaps add some greenery or flowers to the top of the curtain rail or some lights to make it look more like a backdrop? Here are some pictures from Pinterest to give you an idea Smiley smile

The door isn't noticed as much with the curtains covering. The exit sign showing can be covered by puttiing the backdrop higher than the sign itself so that the guests won't be able to tell thats a door.

Otherwise, your ok with the hidden curtains which look nice in whole.

Honestly i didnt even notice the curtain till i re read your post. can you ask them to put the draping up higher to cover the sign? it looks like the wall so i dont think its a big deal people may not even notice lol

Our issue was of where to put our backdrop. There's the kitchen doors, of which, like your venue there are extra doors. Or to just be in front of a window. Our photographer and the venue coordinator didn't recommend the window idea because it'll make us look washed out in the photos.

Did your venue coordinator have a suggestion? Any photos of what both would look like? What do most couples at your venue do? I asked my coordinator and took her advice.

In terms of what we're doing for our backdrop ...so this is what we have to cover

The doors are the silver ones tot he very right of the photo.

And this is the inspo for our backdrop hilariously this was used at our actual venue! Also shout out to my amazing florist/decor extraordinaire Ester at Italflorist

So our backdrop won't be 3d like that one is, it'll be 2d (not as much drapery) so not as huge but we'll have the chandeliers which I think are cutee!!

To be fair - you can't see the outside in the picture... so if you like the look of the fireplace more, then I would say to go with the fire place!
