Asking vendors to wear masks

Samantha, on October 5, 2020 at 08:56 Posted in Before the wedding 0 8
Covid bride here! I’m getting married on October 18th in a very small intimate indoor/outdoor venue. I’m wondering if anyone has asked their vendors to wear masks, I’m particularly concerned about hair/makeup artists and photographers who will be coming inside my house to get the bridal party ready. My mother and future MIL are both high risk individuals. Is this just common sense for them or should I request it? I feel kind of uncomfortable requesting they wear masks but I might have to bite the bullet and deal with the awkwardness. Any advice would be great!

I went to a salon for my hair/nails/makeup and the staff all wore masks and most also wore face shields as well. Most companies want their staff to be safe (especially so their company name isn't dragged through the mud) so I imagine they will wear them.

I would ask them, but give them a few days notice or have disposable masks available so they can be safe and prepared.

All my vendors in my house and the reception wore masks. It is mandatory and you can ask them to wear masks. I had a box with me just in case

It’s mandatory by law to wear a mask, so they will most likely show up with one. If they don’t, I would just kindly say “I’m really sorry to ask, but do you mind wearing a mask? I have high risk family”. Maybe keep a couple spare disposable ones at your house just in case...

Thank you for responding! You are probably right, and I don’t want to insult them by asking but at the same time, I want to make it’s known before they walk in the house! That makes me feel better! Appreciate it!

I don’t think there is anything wrong with asking them to wear a mask. However, most professionals will already be wearing one for the sake of their health and for the sake of their business reputation. I don’t think you’ll even have to ask.
