Are you sending save the dates?

Joey, on August 14, 2017 at 08:05 Posted in Before the wedding 0 15

Do your guests know your wedding date yet? How are you telling them? Invitations are a must, but some people use Save the Dates too in order to let guests know about their date even earlier.

Did you send save the dates or not?

We have been engaged for over four years now, but when we did get engaged, we called/saw our close friends and family to tell them first. We are getting married in October, and we sent out out save the dates a few months ago.

Yes we sent save the dates through the mail/given in person 11 months before the wedding! We're getting married in a different province so we wanted to give people a lot of notice!

We used save the dates- only because we chose a Friday wedding . This way guests knew they would need a day off work if needed!

We did the same thing - we sent ours about 10 months before the wedding so our out of town guests would have time to put in for vacation from work and save up for travel and accommodations.

Plus, it was a fun first step that made it feel super-official Smiley smile

We will be sending save the dates out through email. Probably 75% of our guests will be from out of town, many all the way from ontario (we are in bc) so we wanted to let them know the date early so they could arrange time off work and book flights and whatnot. I will be making the save the dates myself with photoshop Smiley smile
We will also be sending our invitations through email to a) be environmentally friendly and b) save costs.

We are sending out save the dates, mainly because half our guests are out of town and I want to give them plenty of time to book a room/cottage at the resort where we are getting married. Also, 2 of my FH's cousins have got engaged recently and are having their weddings within a few weeks/months of ours so we want to give everyone the info well in advance to stay organized.

Just ordered mine yesterday through vistaprint. We are sending save the dates because the vast majority of our guests are from out of town.

Not sure if I like the abbreviation, SDT! LOL. I didn't send "Save the Date" announcements. It's just another expense. I sent my invitations early (6 months ahead of the date), and then did follow ups with people that didn't respond.

We sent save the dates via e-mail. It was the easiest way to communicate with everyone, especially those overseas. It was a necessity for us since we are having a relatively short engagement.

I am sending save the dates because emails might get lost in the shuffle of an inbox and my family is horrible for remembering that we spoke about it. So in my case..yes it is a necessity. I am just printing them on card stock myself and only mailing the save the dates to people who live far away, saves me on postage.

We didn't send any. We are only having 40 guests all of which are immediate family and a few of our closest friends so they all knew the wedding date since the day we got engaged since we booked the venue a couple months before the engagement hehe

We won't be sending save the dates. I will probably just call or email guests ahead of time so they know when the wedding is.
