Arch for the Sweetheart Table

Judice, on July 7, 2019 at 20:09 Posted in Wedding reception 0 10

I've been looking into some costs vs DIY for an arch at the sweetheart table as a backdrop

But does anyone have any experience if the cost is better to just go with a rental or a DIY. Keep in mind that I have a fairly busy schedule so that will sway the value of the rental.

Any input would be awesome.

I would do a rental! you can do a simple rental for $200 and then we bought a massive one which is still only about $800

Hi Judice,I finally got to assemble the arch. The curtains can be draped any way you want (or removed). The flowers are also removable. We also have two matching easel stands to go with it.

Some of the things that helped me decide whether to rent or DIY wedding things was the cost but also what would i do with it after, how easy would it be to resell or repurpose it? Also transporting your DIY to the venue, setting it up and taking it down at the end of the night are other things to consider.

Some ideas that can work and compare to which you like.

Go to the craft store and look at a few materials that you could use to make it as cheap as possible. if it costs more then 200$ then its probably better to rent one. Just have to compare prices because every company will quote you something different. maybe if its only a 50$ or 100$ difference then get the rental. depends on how much you are willing to spend for that time

Great! I'll try to get you a picture of the arch and message you when I have it.

I would have to check with my venue about the carpet runner, but if they're okay with it I'm so down!

Sure Smiley smile I'll have to get my mom to take a picture of it since she's storing it at her house. It is a square arch that is wood (currently espresso, but can be painted white or another colour). It has white and pink curtains and burgundy swags (all removable). It also has white flowers that can be removed. I also have a pink carpet runner, if pink is in your scheme.

So I look on kijiji after you mentioned it, and I feel like I just opened up pandora's box in terms of options. This is amazing!

Could you message me what your arch looks like with some more details to see if it fits my theme?

I got mine off of another bride on kijiji. I actually need to sell it after the wedding if you're interested. My wedding is in August.
