Alternative to bridal shower

Sonja, on September 10, 2017 at 16:22 Posted in Before the wedding 0 6

Yesterday we had a lovely Ladies' Meet 'n'Greet dinner at a small, quiet restaurant. I decided to do this instead of the traditional bridal shower because both my FH and I have 2 complete households and don't need a thing. I wanted the ladies to have an opportunity to get to know each other a little before the wedding. We had a lovely evening and I made sure that each person was included by involving them in the conversation, for example, "Sandra, Marg is also a teacher." That would get them conversing. I did receive one gift, even though I didn't ask for anything. One of the girls usually takes care of my dogs when we go away, and she made up a certificate for 2 weeks of Free Dog Care! That's perfect since we'll be on our honeymoon for 2 weeks.

Thanks, Lynnie. I don't think I could have done it the day before the wedding. Too much stress. I loved the dog care gift, too.

I love this idea!!! Bridal showers definitely need to be modernized a little bit Smiley shame

I did something kind of similar - I had a Bridal Luncheon with my bridesmaids, female family members, and a few of my mom's closest friends the day before the wedding just to get everyone together, treat them to an awesome lunch, and I gave my bridesmaids their gifts!

Two weeks free dog care is also the best gift ever Smiley heart

Hi Erin, We're having a small wedding. This was a group of 10 ladies and most didn't know each other. It was "the old girl's version" of a bachelorette minus the male dancers. LOL.

Thanks, Lesley. Some girls commented that this was a bachelorette party without the male dancers. LOL! Yes, we're a rowdy bunch!!
