We made sure people could have seconds if they wanted it. We are a "large and in charge" couple so we know food is nothing to mess around with!

I would have opted for Buffet, personally... but my mom was hard core of the "elegance" of plated or family style, so that's what we went for. We made sure that no one would leave hungry - though!

View quoted message Haha I did obsessively check the weather 😂 2 days before I was high up in the mountains and got SNOWED ON so I was in a slight panic. All for nothing though. It was 20 degrees and alberta blue sky for the wedding day!

I'm glad it all turned out well

We had a cocktail hour (food & drinks) and then the dinner was sit down/plated. After mingling for an hour, the guests were happy to sit and drink LOL

Omgsh crazy close!! Are you obsessively checking the weather?? ah, I remember those days LOL even though it's out of our control!

We decided to go with a buffet style, with wine service with dinner. Hoping our guests enjoy it (in 3 days!!!)

I always thought of buffet style, but since our reception was in a restaurant it was plated style.

Which turned out perfect, people were so full so that made me happy. I was always concerned if we do it plated style that there would not be enough food and some people may be hungry still but because we had so 2 courses before the actual dinner - everyone was stuffed and happy

We did the exact same thing. We went with buffet as well. It's always nice when your guests can go for seconds if they really like one or two things or even if they're still hungry!

I envisioned a sit down to go with our overall vibe and venue however the more I thought about it and our guests, we decided to go with buffet style with table service for the wine/drinks during dinner - worked out perfectly. With buffet, I can appreciate how there is sometimes less waste because people are serving themselves.
