Alcohol for daytime ceremony/reception?

Katie, on December 16, 2022 at 12:06 Posted in Wedding reception 0 3

Our ceremony will take place at 11am and the event will end at 3pm.

We will have about 40 people, only half those people will be drinking.

Our venue has an option for open bar $75/ or $19 for non-alcohol per person or cost per drink.

We are trying to keep costs low but we obviously don't want to come off at limiting.

Any advice on what others have done?

Just go for the host bar (ie you pay the cost per drink). Like you said, only half the people will drink and being a day time event, they will limit themselves so it won't cost you that much. That way your guests get the option without it being a burden on your budget.

I agree, given the time of day I think you can get away with no alcohol and I think the non alcoholic drinks offering would be great - maybe you can do a welcome fruity mocktail even : )

As a guest in this situation, I would be fine with no alcohol available or I would be willing to pay myself if I really wanted a drink. Due to the shorter timeline, I dont think anyone would miss alcohol. If anything you can provide the non-alcoholic drinks to keep your costs down. Smiley smile
