With what Doctor Hinshaw stated today, it sounds like the 15 person gathering limit won’t be re-evaluated until September. Our wedding is supposed to be September 26. We originally had a guest list of 85 but at this point I’d be happy to cut that in half. If the government will allow gatherings of 40-50 people come September, our wedding will still proceed as planned. But there’s just so much uncertainty. We can’t wait until 3 weeks before our wedding to find out and inform our guests how many of them will/won’t be allowed to come. I really hope we follow Saskatchewan’s plan in June or July and look at re-evaluating the gathering limits and social distancing measures. I am so stressed. I want to keep waiting. 😔

I can totally relate. my stress level is increasing by the day over this. Our wedding is scheduled for nov 2020 and it looks like we will have to wait till july or even august before we know if the social gatherings restrictions ease up. I have my venue and photographer booked but am putting everything else on hold for now. I would be ecstatic if they increased it to 50 and would most definitely go ahead with the wedding. It's just the not knowing part that is agonizing ! hang in there !

    Hello ladies~

I'm from BC and have been planning for our wedding in AB, in September. Our photographer just let us know this morning, about the mass gathering of 15 people max. (Perfect timing, we just sent out most invitations yesterday) At least guests will be able to stay up-to-date with our Wedding Website information, provided in the invitations. We have already been in contact with our venue and vendors prior to this and did make plans for a reserved date, next September. I'm thinking this will be the best option. Having so many things we're unsure of, even in order for the day to go "as planned." Dress, bridesmaid dresses/alterations, guy's suits and so on. It is a pretty hard pill to swallow but it's important everyone stay safe and healthy, in order to go ahead with future plans. Stay safe and stay positive girls!~

I hated the uncertainty of not knowing what's going to happen. I think we need to wait & see how Sask is going to do, hopefully we can learn from them & be able to put a plan in place as of September. I can't see how this can last that long, but who knows.

Keep in mind that even if they allow 50 person gatherings, you will still have to social distance...not exactly ideal for a wedding. I rescheduled for next summer...I live in BC and they were allowing 50 people but my venue decided they would only have ceremonies no reception... it’s a really tough decision to postpone, but I know we felt way better once we did.

I fixed the title for you!

On one hand it seems premature to announce a limit for the whole summer, but at least it's a bit of an answer. Unless things get a lot more dire you can have a small (very small) event which is more than is allowed in some areas.
I'm right beside everyone else in hoping that the restrictions ease and that weddings and other celebrations can happen! Until then we all need to do our part to stop the spread.

I was really hoping that I was hearing things when I heard that last night. Today has been a rough day already. Smiley atonished

Our wedding is July 31 and since we only have a guest list of 65 people we were happy to reduce this to 50 if it meant we could still proceed. However it is not looking good for us so I am thinking that in the next couple of weeks we will be looking at postponing until next year. Sigh.

My heart goes out to everyone who has already postponed or canceled. I hope we can all find ways to stay positive about a crappy situation and get EXCITED again about planning their weddings. Smiley heart

I saw that today as well. My wedding is on June 13, and at this point we have planned to just have immediate family there to stay under 15. It’s definitely difficult to change plans, but I’m trying to focus on the positivity of how excited I am to marry the love of my life. We are thinking of having a reception in the fall with all our friends. Hopefully restrictions change so you can have your dream day!
