Advice for soon to be brides?

Kaytee, on September 21, 2017 at 10:49 Posted in Before the wedding 0 13
For those of you that have gotten married and are still here, what advice would you give us soon-to-be-brides? I am starting to get quote anxious and nervous.

No problem! It's what I've told every bride whose wedding I've stood in and its true for me too. Just let it all go and enjoy the day. As long as you end up married to your sweetheart, at the end of the day, that's the only detail that matters!

It's going to be a wonderful day!! All the stress and anxiety that you are feeling now will honestly disappear. I thought I would be a lot more nervous because I tend to be an anxious person, but I was just so happy and felt so surrounded by love and joy that I didn't have one moment of worry all day. And that is an accomplishment for me because I worry a lot. In fact, leading up to the wedding I had anxiety about my anxiety because I was worried that I would be too anxious to enjoy myself. That could not have been farther from the truth. I felt ridiculously happy all day. I felt like everything went perfectly - I'm sure it didn't - but I was too happy to care. Maybe normal people feel that way all the time, lol, but for me it was magical.

So, moral of my long rant - it's all going to be worth it for the moments that you will share with your husband (!!!) and your family. Everyone is there to support and love the two of you and that feeling is wonderful! I am excited for you because nothing can describe just how amazing you will feel on your wedding day! I want to keep re-living it!!

    Congrats!!!

    Hey Kaytee,

This is my second wedding. I was married many years ago so I can share some advice!

    1) This day is about you and your husband. Not about anybody else. Ensure that the two of you get what you want and don't let anybody else ruin that for you.

    2) If people can't be happy for you guys through the planning process then kindly ask them to step aside so you can plan the wedding without drama.

    3) Do your research for different vendors. Ask other brides for their reviews on these particular vendors so you aren't blind sided by something on the day of your wedding.

    4) Remember to breath. The wedding shouldn't take over your whole thought process all the time and it should be fun!

Because I suffer from anxiety and depression we did a lot of planning right away so that it would be a little easier for me to cope with as we get closer to the big day. I actually just came across this hilarious book just yesterday by this comedian names Jamie Lee who tells you all about her experience with planning her wedding and how to cope with it through the whole process. It's called "weddiculous". Check it out! It helps shed light on the reality of the planning process through the whole thing.

The thing I've been telling myself: No one else planned this but us, so if something goes not according to plan, no one else will know so don't sweat it!

You got this Kaytee!! Just remember that we have planned and organized as much as we can so now we just have to let things flow. I have always been told that there is always something that goes wrong at a wedding and to just roll with things on the day.
