6 months!

Peggy, on October 30, 2018 at 10:14 Posted in Before the wedding 0 9

Anyone else feel like reality smacked you in the face when you reached 6 months out?

Yikes! Time flies! It seems like only yesterday that we got engaged (but in reality it was almost 14 months ago!), but we are only 6 months out from our wedding! I'm sure time will really zoom by now.

Not to mention, there seems to be some big event every 2 months between now and my wedding (Christmas, Bridal Shower, Bachelorette) - eek!

I hear you! My fiance keeps telling me that I have everything almost done and I keep telling him that there still a ton of little things that have to get done. He doesn't seem to get it. It's not that he doesn't believe me but he just doesn't understand everything that has to happen still

Same here girl!!! I still feel like there's SO much to do too!!! (The stress is almost setting in !!) My soon-to-be-husband is the biggest procrastinator in the world too!!! He has yet to pick his groomsmen and attire!! But I have my bridesmaids picked out, they have their dresses, I picked out MY dress, venue, etc. GAH. Am I the only girl whose hubby is sloooower than molasses?!

11.5 weeks, 81 days. I'm pretty sure I'm going to become a basket case some time in the next 30 days..... EEEK.

I have playlists, centrepieces, signs, decor, vows, wedding bands, alterations, hair/make-up, ceremony, transportation, rehearsal, groomsmen tux rentals, etc. on my to-do list.

Every time I think I have time, I feel like an entire week goes by without doing anything! Luckily we got our cake contract and my FH's tux ordered this past weekend... helps with the anxiety.

Yep! I reached 6 months a few days ago, and it was the toughest one to deal with so far. Lol. Because we are getting married in Kananaskis, our invitations went out early. So our numbers are done! The only thing we have been struggling with is an officiant and so we have decided not to have a traditional ceremony, but rather a quick one before dinner. I don’t mind as my Uncle just did and it turned out great. But it’s hard to change what I envisioned. Oh well, it’s all about rolling with the punches that life brings you, and this is so minor in the grand scheme of things. Lol. We have SO much going on, we don’t even have a chance to focus on the wedding. I am a huge procrastinator, at this point in my life, I wish I wasn’t lol

Phew, glad it isn't just me! My monthly to-do's seem reasonable on one hand, and like SO MUCH to do on the other.

November: Pay off florist, hair/makeup, buy FH's ring, help my mom at a craft fair, make sure bridesmaids have all ordered their dresses.

December: Christmas, Christmas party for work, stuff wedding invitation envelopes, address envelopes.

January: Send out invitations! YIKES! Pre-fold and stuff napkins with menu cards and candy bags.

February: Rent grooms suits. Sew flower girl's dresses. Pre-order alcohol.

March: Hair trial, Bridal shower, mail out thank you's for shower gifts, 4 rehearsals for our lightsaber duel first dance, finalize menu with our caterer.

April - Make seating plan, Bachelor/Bachelorette parties, makeup trial, and lots of little stuff (confirming details, bathroom baskets, etc)

    May 4 - GET MARRIED

It practically feels like 2019 right now lol.

I'm taking over my boss's role at work as she's leaving and that'll keep me busy all November.

December is the holidays so that's busy, Save the dates go out in January, Hoping to book florists/cake/MUA in February, March through May aren't too bad. June our invitations go out (the latest, might send April/May) and I'm in a wedding. July-August since it's summer will try and do shower/bachelorette in there, might be September. We'll also have to meet with Officiant again, plus Catering in July-August. Then it's a month to go and will be making sure things are good to go!

On top of that, we live 18 hours away from our wedding! lots to keep busy over the next year!

Now that you mention it - I know that I'm basically 11 months out, but well... I've got my Final exam in Stats mid November, Christmas festivities all December, Then sending out our Save The Dates in January, February is short as is plus we will have so much going on for our Wedding Social that we need to be ready for in March! Then we have our actual invitations going out in April, May and June look okay for now but I assume I will have at least one wedding shower to go to as my FH's cousin is getting married next July, I will be sending out our second batch of invitations depending on how many RSVP no in July as well, have my wedding shower in August or early September, and before I know it - boom! It will be October 5th and I will be married!! lol
