6 Month Mark..

Rachel, on March 13, 2019 at 16:07 Posted in Before the wedding 0 10

Hey Ladies!! So we're now 6 months away from our wedding ( September 7th)! I'm feeling a little stressed sometimes about what I need to tackle next organize etc.

We've got most of the big things out of the way, and are slowly paying down deposits etc, but was wondering if anyone is feeling the same!

Any tips on how to feel more prepared at this awkward limbo of too early for somethings but also not wanting it all to pile up a month before.

Appreciate any lists or advice Smiley smile

I'm a little under 6 months out (September 13th), but I somehow feel mostly prepared. But I'm having trouble finding ways to continue to be productive. I need more things to DIY to keep me busy I guess.

I'm three months away and all I can say is ENJOY THE LIMBO. There is wayyyyy too much I still haven't done and at this point I'm too stressed to be stressed anymore (does that make sense? I can't tell because I'm too STRESSED)

I'm at the 7th month mark soon (wedding is October 19) and I hear you on feeling the limbo on it's too early for things but what can I do so everything doesn't pile up at the end! I also feel like I'm forgetting something since it is so calm!

We have most of the big things, in terms of vendors. In the next little while, I'll get the bridal party to order their attire. Between now and May (5-7 months before) I'm gonna order things that aren't too early to buy now (guest book, flower girl basket, my final accessories, gifts). I'm also working on a rough timeline to go over with my venue coordinator in June. June and August we are in the wedding city (we live 18 hours away) so we'll be busy getting some stuff done in person then!

For the 5-7 months before, I'm gonna buckle down and work on my DIY stationary (invitations, place cards, table numbers, etc). Some of this I won't be able to print right away until RVSPs get in but I'll design them a head of time so it's less work a month before.

I find what helps me is my monthly wedding planner: I write in what I need to accomplish this month and anytime I order something/do something for the wedding, I write down when I did it so I can reference that later. My FH has access to it too so he can stay on task too.

I have just under 5 months and I feel like nothing is done! although we have the most important things done so far.. my biggest help has been the timeline on here showing me what to get done before what date. and also making lists of people I need to call and a list of things that are still yet to do and when they should be done by.. because its true... everyone asks questions you have no answer to because you don't need to worry about it until the month before. so my advice is to grab a glass of wine and get into some cozy jammies and take out your notepad and start making lists and adding dates to when they should be done! 6 months out as well! (September 13th)

Feeling you on this, though I'm good at planning ahead, so I think we're in a really good place. We're going to place the order for our wedding invitations this coming week, so right now we're finalizing the guest list, collecting addresses. I did have to start planning the day of schedule with my photographer because we had to nail down the ceremony time to put in the invites.

Ah what an exciting time! We're just under 5 months out and I feel that the things keeping me together is my agenda and lists. I know what I need to accomplish each month, who needs deposits, who to follow up on, and so on and so forth. It's very calming knowing that everything is getting done and will come together for the big day.

    Best of luck!

Love the wedding date Smiley winking We're also getting married September 7th.

I get overwhelmed when I start thinking about our wedding day timeline, and the details that have to be confirmed before being shared with our parents or anyone involved. Also, family members asking us questions we don't have answers to, yet...because it's WAY TOO EARLY!

I got really annoyed when I was asked if I knew when I was flying in for our wedding, and if we knew whether we had the venue the day before or not. People need to chill, because I need to chill hahaha.

Sorry...that turned into a rant Smiley xd

What's helped me is to write it down, making lists upon lists of things I need to figure out/confirm/build/talk to FH about. I've created so many google docs. My FH knows to check our shared docs for any updates or questions I need to him to figure out. Plus, I feel like I can always go back to them and rework wording or timelines if I have an "ah ha!" moment at 10pm (or at work haha).

I also use both WeddingWire and The Knot's 'To-Do List', as they have somewhat different timelines and sorta average them out!

We for sure need to make a good itinerary that would for sure help with feeling more organized.

We've got our venue, photographer, officiant, rental company(tables chairs lighting etc.) florist, dj, cake, dress & tux.

    also have our honeymoon booked.

I think we're ahead of schedule lol but feeling overwhelmed about forgetting, a lot of our wedding is diy like favours ,food, décor is all us so that's probably why.

I mean, I'm a month off with my wedding being on October 5th and there is so much left to do! I still have to figure out flowers and decor, dessert, transportation, etc.

But if you are already done everything on the list of possible things to do - then I would say to live in the now! Make sure you have a good diet/health routine, have a good face/skin routine, etc.

Have you done your itinerary yet? How far have you gotten in your planning?
