3 weeks jitters

Emilie, on July 11, 2020 at 02:42 Posted in Before the wedding 0 4
Hey everyone!

I've been very confident and relaxed in my wedding planning journey... until this week. I was so organized that I got everything done early but now I keep thinking I'm missing something or I'm not doing enough. Not working is probably not helping.
Anyone have any advice about how to relax? Thanks

    Only 3 weeks, that's exciting!

I plan to stay busy by seeing friends and family. It's such a busy time leading up to a huge moment that I feel like I should have a little time with my girlfriends to focus on them or relax and keep me a little distracted.
It would also be a great time to have a few quiet date nights, maybe start a new series or have a movie marathon that spans a few evenings (Lord of the Rings, Marvel, Harry Potter etc.).

Hi Emilie. I feel you! Having done everything and sitting not working is a wreck on the nerves! Other than the usual ideas (ie taking a walk, a bath, yoga, scenic drive, hobbies, read, etc), I’ve found looking at our wedding planner is so helpful to reassure that everything is actually done and helps me feel good about what we accomplished. I’ve also been reaching out to friends more often to ask about how they’re doing and avoid talking about just the wedding, they’ve given me such good advice and support. Good luck and if you need to vent, we’re here!

Hi Emilie! I anticipate feeling a lot like you are when it comes to my time! You sound really organized... I try telling myself that if I've forgotten something this entire planning journey, it must not be that important. As long as the big things are covered, it will all work out. But don't worry - I'm sure there's not a thing you're missing. The past months have most likely been busy and just full of wedding planning especially with covid problems to worry about, and now that it's coming up and you 'don't have anything to do' I can totally understand that you'd be stressing out.

Try taking a bath, reading a book, thinking of what to do on your honeymoon (if you guys will be going away), or going to get your nails done... all depending on your interests of course. Take a deep breath - you're almost there!! And an early congratulations - your day will be amazing.

I am feeling so much like this. Although we postponed our full size wedding till next year we are doing a small scale backyard one and it's now 1week away and I'm feeling the panic kick in that I have missed something or don't have something.
I think it's totally normal at this stage to feel that way and I'm just keeping my lists up to date so I can reassure myself it's all done and ready. Doesn't help that FH decided to start a project for it this week though

    Goodluck with your wedding
