2022 Date booking (planning)

Elizabeth, on April 11, 2020 at 18:33 Posted in Ontario 0 5

Hey guys!

I know 2020 has not been the greatest year (so far) and my heart goes out to all you brides having to postpone your weddings this year Smiley sad I recently got engaged and my fiancé and I were thinking of having a July/August 2022 wedding or a September 2022 wedding. The problem is, with COVID-19 being a pain, we are stuck and not able to book a venue. We want to make sure we at least have a venue booked/date and everything else would follow suit in regards to vendors. Should I be worried about booking for 2022 as I see couples postponing their weddings later this year or 2021? Or am I over reacting and needing to take a deep breath?

Just need to hear fresh opinions

Thank you!!

You shouldn't have a problem booking for 2022. I would book it as soon as you can to get the date you really want. I had a second date picked out the end of march when this whole pandemic started just in case we would need to to postpone our august wedding. We had done this just to have the date we wanted for 2021 since most venues and vendors are filling up with couples postponing this years wedding to next year

Congratulations on your engagement! Definitely look more into booking a venue for 2022. When I was looking for venues for my upcoming wedding in July 2021, it was very hard, everything was booking up quick, but the right one will come to you! It may take some time because of COVID-19, but you should definitely call/email all the venues you can!

I'm also getting married in 2022 and that thought crossed my mind as well. I saw a few places via the internet that look good, but as you said, with COVID-19 going on, it's hard to tell how early to actually start booking.

Most are postponing to 2021 so I dont see you having a problem for 2022. But I would book it asap when you can and you will be ahead of the crowd.

I would definitely look at any options you can on-line and book as soon as you can. I think venues will be busy come 2021 and 2022 because of this. However, I think you will still be ahead of the crowd if you book when you can
