20 person venues!

Kyla, on April 3, 2019 at 13:15 Posted in Wedding reception 0 14

Hi everyone,

My fiance and I are planning a 20 person wedding for this summer, which we thought would be easier than planning the traditional large wedding. Turns out we were wrong! We have had no luck at all finding a wedding venue that suits our needs - ideally we would like the ceremony, dinner and accommodations to all be available on site.

We were originally looking in the Prince Edward County area but have found prices to be outrageous so we are pretty open with location - north or east of Toronto are preferable.

Any suggestions would be so appreciated!! xo

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions! We ended up finding Sir William MacKenzie Inn in Kirkfield which looks perfect. Thanks again Smiley smile

Try a hotel reception room. We booked ours at a Holiday Inn, we have the ceremony in one room and the reception in another room.

Unfortunately most wedding venues are super expensive just to RENT the place for the evening, regardless of how many guests. Best bet is to look at venues that aren't wedding specific, with a guest list at 20 you could even look at renting out a fancy restaurant for the evening.

I would look at Niagara-on-the-Lake for small intimate weddings. The link is for The Charles Hotel - they can accommodate up to 25 guests for a wedding.

My FH cousin found a place on a lake that had a gorgeous venue- cottage like but fancy and they do everything there including catering. Is there anything for places on wedding wire that could suit your size?

Not sure what the price is but Whispering Springs Wilderness Retreat is beautiful and not too far from PEC.

Not sure if the Brewery theme works for you. Check out Old Flame Brewery in Port Perry. My FH and I wanted to have ours there but it's too small for our group.

    Good Luck!

How about a Winery or Brewery as a venue?

I unfortunately don't know much about Ontario or the pricing for the venues over there - but when taking a look at the Toronto Venues listed here on Wedding Wire they seem to have the most options where the head count starts low and stays relatively low.

P.S. Congrats on the engagement and welcome to the community!

Have you looked into wineries? They’re usually small enough to provide an intimate setting, while still being nice enough for a wedding. My cousins in-laws own Gallucci Winery in Stouffville and it’s so good! The only thing that’s missing is the accommodations tho.

    Best of luck!
