View quoted message Thank you, and thank you to everyone else! Our wedding was at Chateau des Charmes winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake. The beauty of the winery speaks for itself, so I knew I could keep decor to a minimum. But I truly wanted the arch. So, we built it ourselves to save some money (materials cost roughly $80). Our florist decked it out with flowers. I sacrificed other things like paper invitations etc to save money. We went from a 150 person guest list to just 50 including us. Honestly, I was not upset by this at all! A small wedding allowed me to have our closest family and friends there. The most important people! We didn’t spend the entire evening thanking everyone for coming, but rather we spent the entire evening having wholesome and meaningful conversations with each other and with our guests. It was amazing! For those of you considering cutting down your guest list, it’s worth it! It’s so intimate, and truly a wonderful experience. And the best advice I can give is to take it all in, and don’t sweat the small stuff because it goes fast! Before you know it you’ll wake up as husband and wife.
